Zero, the 19 year old Polar Bear at the Milwaukee Zoo was so playful yesterday that he slipped off the edge of his playground right into the moat onto a net. The Zoo personnelcut the net which allowed Zero to go to the ground area. Zero has a complete set of stairs to climb back up with from the bottom of the moat. Zoo officials said he’ll come out when he’s good and ready by himself. He did this 15 years ago also and decided to stay down in the moat for 9 days before coming back up to the top.

Two in custody in arson at Circus World Museum
State Journal staff
BARABOO — Two people were taken into custody Thursday morning in connection with arson at Circus World Museum earlier this week, said Baraboo Police Lt. Robert Sinden.
The two — Kory Evert, 20, and a 16-year-old male — face tentative charges of arson, criminal damage to property and trespassing. Sinden said the charges cover not only the Circus World Museum fire, which damaged an exhibition housing rare circus wagons, but other incidents of graffiti in Baraboo.
Sinden said the suspects were identified with the help of information from the Crimestoppers tip telephone line. Both were released pending a court appearance.

The Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin was attacked by vandals a couple nights ago when they got on the property, used spray paint to graffiti hate crimes slogans then poured a flammable substance against the Restoration Building and set it on fire. No damage was done to anything inside the building but it melted the metal off of the outside of the building and charred the wooden structure. Just a week or so before that vandals had hit sending a trash can in the river and I was told some windows were involved. I can testify to the graffiti sprayed all over a couple of the Flatcars and the broken windows at the train sheds. I hope and pray the Law Enforcement is able to get a handle on these indivduals and make the arrests. If you have never seen the Circus World Museum before, it houses the largest and most spectacular collection of historic Circus Wagons in the world. Also there is the Robert Parkinson Research Library that houses more Circus Posters, circus photos, circus books, route books, programs, and historical artifacts and documentation than any other facility in the world.
